Travis Ando is currently the Director of Bands and Orchestra at Freedom High School in Tampa, FL. Originally from St. Petersburg FL, Mr. Ando holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Florida State University. While at FSU, Mr. Ando served as Trombone Section Leader for the World-Renowned FSU Marching Chiefs, and regularly performed with both the University Concert and Symphonic Bands. Mr. Ando has also worked with the FSU Summer Music Camps as a part of the day counselor staff.

Before coming to Freedom, Mr. Ando was the director of Bands at Murray Middle School in Stuart FL. During his time in Stuart Mr. Ando worked as a guest teacher for many band programs in the Treasure Coast area; most notably at South Fork High School where he worked on the marching band staff, and at the Treasure Coast Summer Band Camp where he was a low brass instructor. Mr. Ando completed his student teaching at Steinbrenner High School in Lutz FL, where he taught the concert and jazz band classes, and the Marching Warrior Brigade.

Mr. Ando is a member of FMEA, FBA, FOA, and is an alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. When not teaching, Mr. Ando also writes music arrangements for marching band, jazz band, concert band, and chamber ensembles. His hobbies outside of music include video games, camping, and being a fan of FSU athletics and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
